A question that we get asked all the time is – What is the difference between Internal Auditor Training and Lead Auditor Training courses?
The answer is fairly simple:
Internal Auditor training teaches you the knowledge and skills to internally audit your own management system – in other words you auditing your own companies management system as an internal auditor.
Lead Auditor training (also know as Auditor/Lead Auditor training) teaches you the knowledge and skills to internally audit your own management system, but also teaches you how to conduct 2nd party (Supplier) audits and 3rd party (External and Certification) audits.
The 3 main types of auditing are:
Internal Auditing (1st party) – “you auditing you” – this is covered in an Internal Auditor training course
Supplier Auditing (2nd party) – “you auditing your suppliers or any company not belonging to your own company” – this is covered in our Auditor/Lead Auditor training course
External / Certification Auditing (3rd party) – “you auditing another company to provide certification services” – this is also covered in our Auditor/Lead Auditor training course
